Hi we are planning a VIP tour for our upcoming trip to Disney World this May. Trying to figure out what we should plan to maximize the experience but not feel rushed. We have a 3.5 year old the the trip is for her.

Welcome to planDisney, Amy! I am so excited to hear about your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Let's talk about it!

I always say that any age is a great age to go to Walt Disney World, but boy, there is something about a three-year-old! Seeing our children happy is a mother's greatest joy. And a VIP tour? You are doing this trip RIGHT! I love that you want to make the most of your day without overdoing it. The good news is that there is no one perfect way to do this, and yet there are a thousand ways to do it well. You will likely be asked to email Signature Services with a list of attractions you'd like to experience. Don't worry, this isn't set in stone. Once you meet up with your guide, you can make adjustments.

I'd start in Magic Kingdom Park. There's nothing like seeing Cinderella Castle to start the day off! Here are the attractions I'd include:

    • Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
    • The Barnstormer
    • Dumbo
    • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
    • Meet any characters that are important to your daughter, such as Ariel or princesses at Fairytale Hall
    • Peter Pan's Flight
    • Haunted Mansion
    • Pirates of the Caribbean
    • Jungle Cruise
These are most of the attractions that might appeal to a preschooler and often maintain significant wait times. There are certainly more attractions that are worth your time, but the wait times tend to be more manageable, and thus aren't worth experiencing during your VIP tour. Circle back to those on another day. If she's a thrill-seeker (and tall enough), add in Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (if it's open during your visit). Grab lunch at a nearby quick-service restaurant. Try to catch the Festival of Fantasy Parade. It's usually held at 3 pm, and your tour guide will get you VIP seating!

If you've got time (and energy), head to Disney's Hollywood Studios next. Here are the attractions that I would prioritize there:

    • Alien Swirling Saucers
    • Toy Story Mania!
    • Slinky Dog Dash (if she's adventurous)
    • Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway
    • Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run
    • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
    • There are many favorite characters to meet in Hollywood Studios, including Ariel, Olaf, Joy, and other Pixar friends
Before you finalize your initial list, I suggest you measure your daughter's height and check the height requirements for the attractions you are considering.

Your VIP Tour Guide will be the expert on the parks and attractions, but you are the expert on your family! Together, you will put together an incredible day!

Amy, you and your sweet family are going to make the most magical memories! Seeing your girl light up will be enough to make the entire trip worth it, but I hope the little girl inside of you finds her own joy, as well. If you have any more questions, please come back and see us at planDisney
