    We are planning our vaction for next year we have 3 adults and 2 teenagers we have been looking at the contemporary and the art of antimation. We like the contemporary because of location but the family suites look like they have more room any suggestions?

    Hi Adrian,

    That's a tough call, but let me try to help you with the pros and cons.

    I recently stayed at the Contemporary with three adult friends. There was room for a fifth on the comfy day bed (which is where I slept because I had a cold and didn't want to infect my friends). The room was plenty big for the four of us and our luggage. The downside was that four adults sharing one bathroom was a little inconvenient.

    On the other hand, the convenience of being able to walk to Magic Kingdom from the hotel was a huge plus, as was the ability to catch the monorail inside the hotel. It was easy to make the connection to the Epcot monorail and to get to dining reservations at the Polynesian.

    In a family suite at Art of Animation, you would have much more room and, most important, two full bathrooms. The suites have a separate bedroom with a queen bed and large bathroom. The living space includes a kitchenette, another full bathroom and two fold-out double beds. One pulls down from the wall over the dining table and the other folds out of the sofa.

    I love the themed decor at Art of Animation. It is not as convenient as the Contemporary. You must take a bus to all the parks and Downtown Disney, but it does not share a bus with any other resort. The longest ride is to Magic Kingdom, which I timed at 18 minutes on my last visit to Art of Animation.

    My guess is that the family suite at Art of Animation is significantly cheaper, too, than a room for five at the Contemporary. I always like to weigh whether the extra money for a room could be better spent toward dining or other fun. (Food often wins out for me over accommodations).
