We are planning a vacation the week of July 24. Should I expect big crowds at Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom?

    Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Your trip is coming up so soon, you must be getting very excited!

During late July, I think that there will likely be many guests at Walt Disney World, though it is not the busiest time of year. So yes, I do think that it will be busy, but not as busy at it can be at times of year like Spring Break or Christmas. You may also find that Disney's Animal Kingdom has many guests, especially the new land Pandora - The World of Avatar. This amazing land filled with breathtaking detail opened recently, so many guests are heading there to get a first glimpse.

A great way to mitigate crowds is to be sure to take advantage of the Disney FastPass+ system. Using this system, you can experience some attractions each day with reduced wait times. Also, I like to get a jump on the day by heading to the theme parks early, even 30 minutes or so before the opening time. Many guests sleep in on vacation, and by heading to the theme parks early, you can experience less other guests in the theme parks in the early morning.

One important thing to remember in late July is that it will be hot. Be sure to keep yourself cool and hydrated! I like to bring bottled water with me into the theme parks in my backpack, and you can also ask for a complimentary cup of ice water at any quick-service location.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Melissa! Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
