    When planning our vacation package, meal planning was not available to add to our package. May we add a meal package now?

    Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question. 

    There are so many things to consider when planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. One of my favorite things to plan is where we're going to eat! With close to 400 dining locations to choose from, there are options to please everyone in my family! We always try and check out a new and different dining experience every time we visit. 

    Prior to Walt Disney World's closing in 2020, the Disney Dining Plan was an option Guests could add to a vacation package that would allow them to prepay for dining experiences for their length of stay. My family always enjoyed the convenience of the dining plan, as it took the guesswork out of budgeting for meals, and allowed us to be able to splurge on fancier meals that we might not ordinarily choose. 

    The Disney Dining Plan has been paused during Walt Disney World's phased reopening and is temporarily unavailable. While there have been rumors of the dining plan returning, no official announcements have been made regarding the reinstatement of this popular Guest offering. I encourage you to keep a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World on Facebook and Twitter for the latest news and most up-to-date information about the Disney Dining Plan. I would also recommend checking the Dining: Know Before You Go page on the Walt Disney World Resort website, as any new information will be posted there as soon as any changes are made. 

    When the Disney Dining Plan was previously offered, Guests were able to add the Disney Dining Plan to existing vacation packages up to 48 hours before their arrival date. If it does become available before your trip, hopefully, you should be able to add it!
