We are planning a vacation for October 2015 with my parents and our family of 4. My kids will be age 7 and 11. I do not see rooms for parties of 6. We are looking for a moderate to deluxe accommodations. What would you suggest, two adjoining rooms?

    Hi Sara,

You are correct that there are not standard size rooms in the moderate or deluxe categories that will accommodate more than 5 guests. There are suites or villas available in the deluxe category, but it would probably be more cost effective to choose to do 2 standard rooms and request that they be connecting rooms. Keep in mind that requests cannot be guaranteed and there are a limited number of connecting rooms at each resort. However, if you call to make the request and have the cast member note that you are all traveling together, I am sure they will do their best to get you those connecting rooms, or at the very least, get you adjacent rooms or rooms very close to each other.

I would also like to recommend my favorite resorts in each of the categories. In the moderate category, I absolutely love Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. This location has a relaxing southern charm with beautiful landscaping and and wonderfully appointed rooms. For the deluxe category, my all-time favorite resort is Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The theming is awe-inspiring with its majestic main lobby and spacious rooms. I also like this location because of its amazing restaurant choices. Whispering Canyon Cafe and Artist Point happen to be in my top 10 restaurant list at Walt Disney World, so having them that close by when I stay there is an extra bonus. My kids also like having the option of bunk beds in the room when we choose this hotel.

I hope this helps you in your planning process. Have a magical time and feel free to stop back by with more questions as they come up.
