Hi there, Richard! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question today.
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up in just a few days! Ka-Chow! I'm sorry to hear that there has been a vacation planning hiccup. I'd be happy to try to guide you in the right direction on this.
The pandemic changed things in the world as we know it, including at The Most Magical Place on Earth. One of the changes that stuck is the
Disney Park Pass Reservation System which requires Guests to make theme park reservations in advance before entering any of the four parks. It seems you've figured that out, but changing a reservation can be tricky. The easiest way to change a theme park reservation is by using the "Modify" feature on your My Disney Experience account. This feature is accessible when using the
Walt Disney World Resort Website. However, it seems that you may have canceled the theme park reservations you already had and were unable to make new ones. If this is the case, I have a few suggestions.
Richard, you have two options when it comes to patching up this bump in the road. First, you can keep a close eye on the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar. When a Guest cancels a reservation, it becomes available for another Guest to book. When I REALLY want a reservation for a particular park on a particular day, I refresh the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar multiple times every day leading up to that date in hopes of finding the park I want. I would also like to add that if there is no availability at all for some parks, but a different park that you didn't originally plan to visit is available, it may be worth it to just book that park in the meantime. This way, you are guaranteed to visit at least that park. If the reservation you originally wanted becomes available, you can modify your reservation and switch to the other park.
If you believe that your theme park reservations were canceled by no error of your own, you may want to
phone a Cast Member at the Existing Tickets line for assistance. They are friendly, kind and well-versed in all things related to tickets and theme park reservations. They can also check availability on their end, and if the reservations you seek are available, they can help you out!
Richard, if you're unable to visit your preferred parks on the days you plan to visit, but still want to spend some time in the magic of Walt Disney World, you may consider a day at
Disney Springs. This outdoor shopping extravaganza is home to stores, dining locations, world-famous desserts and activities for both little ones and adults. You can spend all day exploring. My family loves the
Vintage Amphicar & Italian Water Taxi Tours and shopping at
World of Disney!
I'm sorry that I couldn't deliver more magical news for you today, Richard. I will keep my ears crossed that some pixie dust is headed your way!
Have a magical day,
Ashley
