Hi Jordyn,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question! My little guy visited Walt Disney World Resort 5 times before he turned 3 and one of those visits took place a few days before his 2nd birthday.
Nap time: we usually leave the Theme Park or Water Park that we’re visiting at around 12:30-1:00 at the latest. This allowed us to get out of the sun during the day’s peak heat (and peak lines for many attractions), and put our little guy to bed by around 2:30, usually after having a quick lunch at our Resort (this is why I LOVE having a kitchen or kitchenette when we travel). I usually shift my little guy's schedule when we’re on vacation by 2-3 hours with a later nap in order to ensure that he's happy and well rested enough to enjoy fireworks at night. To my surprise, they’ve always been his favourite part of any Disney Day, even when he was a baby!
A great resource for vacation inspiration is the
Planning for Pre-School Kids & Little Ones page. There, you’ll find all kinds of tips and suggestions about the things that your little guy may enjoy during your upcoming vacation. Another tip: if an attraction is listed as available for “
any height”, your little guy can enjoy it.
There are way too many attractions that my little guy loved, in all four Theme Parks, for me to be able to list them all for you. Because you’ll be visiting in the summer, I would definitely recommend
Dumbo the Flying Elephant and, more specifically, it’s amazing interactive queue which will allow you all to get out of the heat!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
