Your trip will be here before you know it and I bet you're too excited to sleep already! The weather for Central Florida in October is typically pretty warm. The average high temperature is in the mid-80s and the average low is in the mid-60s. The sun starts setting around 7:00 p.m. so that should help as well.
* If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, take advantage of morning and evening
Extra Magic Hours when the temperatures are more pleasant and the sun isn't quite as bright.
* Wear dark sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. Bring a backup pair as well.
* Wear light colored clothing made of lightweight moisture wicking fabric.
* Wear clothes that offer UV protection. There are some products available to "wash in" UV treatment in the laundry.
* Wear long sleeves and long pants.
* Wear a hat with a wide brim. My son has a cap with a wide brim and a flap that covers his ears and neck.
* Wear sunscreen under clothing as well as applying it to exposed skin - remember to reapply often.
* Bring an umbrella - it provides shade in the sun as well as rain protection. Look for one that reflects UV rays.
* Take a mid-day break from the sun and go back to your resort.
* There are lots of shops, shows, restaurants, and attractions in all of the theme parks where you can spend time inside.
If needed, there are
First Aid centers in all of the theme parks.
