We are planning a vacation and have made reservations for character meals. However one of our meals is Chef Mickey's but it is on a day we are not planning to be at MK, I'm not familuar with the parks but I think Contemperary Resort is @ MK. Problem?

Hi Michelle, Chef Mickey's is a wonderful choice. The food options are great and the character interaction is fantastic!

The Contemporary Resort is located within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom, and is therefore referred to as a "Magic Kingdom Resort". However, it is not inside the gates of the Park and a pass is not required. I always recommend that people plan their meals based on what Parks they will be in and that on days that they won't be in a Park, they should book meals inside Disney Resorts. You've done this and it'll work perfectly for you!
