Hi Robin, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I am happy to hEAR you are planning an upcoming visit at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, which just happens to be one of my "Home" Resorts with
Disney Vacation Club. This stately and handsome Resort with green manicured lawns and luscious landscaping is a very peaceful and relaxed place to unwind and recharge after a day touring the Theme Parks.
Robin, The Grandstand and The Paddock areas of the Resort both fall within the Standard Villa category, along with The Carousel. If choosing between The Paddock and The Grandstand area of the Resort, my personal preference would be The Paddock. It is only about a five minute walk from The Paddock to The Carriage House, where main reception and check-in is located, as well as The Artist's Palette, a quick service restaurant and general store, and The Turf Club Bar & Grill, a table service restaurant. From this area you are also able to pick up a water taxi to the newly enhanced
Disney Springs, where you will find a plethora of unique shopping, dining and entertainment options. Disney Springs is truly a destination in and of itself and is always a "Must-Do" for my family each trip.
However, in my view what really gives The Paddock the edge over The Grandstand area is The Paddock Pool. If you like aquatic adventures, you will love the 146-foot-long waterslide here which shoots those brave enough to take it on from the top of a water tower. Cowabunga!!!
Wishing you a wonderful upcoming stay next June at Disney's Saratoga Resort & Spa. Please let us know if you have any other questions about the Resort or anything else regarding your upcoming Disney vacation. We are here to help!
