We are planning a vacation for July and we are still not sure of staying in a Disney Resort or in rented apartment. If we stay in the rented apartment, can we still purchase fast passes or the bands to access the parks?

    Hi Lily,

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation is so exciting, and you have lots of great planning tools available whether you stay in a Walt Disney World resort or off Disney property.

is available without cost for all guests to reserve a place in line in advance for three attractions per day. Those who are staying at a Walt Disney World resort can make their FastPass+ choices 60 days before arrival. Guests without a Walt Disney World can make complimentary FastPass+ reservations up to 30 days in advance using your My Disney Experience account.

Guests at Walt Disney World resorts each receive a free MagicBand, which will automatically be linked to your My Disney Experience profiles. If you aren't staying on property, your ticket cards can get you into the park  and give you access to your FastPass+ choices. If you prefer to have a MagicBand, they are available for purchase at the Disney Store, through the Shop Disney Parks mobile app and at gift shops in the theme parks and Disney Springs.

If you buy MagicBands, you will link them manually to each member of your family in My Disney Experience and they will work just like the ones resort guests receive.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lily. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions as you decide where to stay, where to eat and what to do on your July vacation. We're always here to help. Enjoy!
