I am planning a vacation for my family, myself, my wife, and two sons. Also we are going to surprise my in laws at Christmas. Is there a way to get a letter or invitation from disney that we could customize to give them?

Hi, Ozzie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

What a wonderful Christmas surprise for your family! I have always wanted to make our Walt Disney World Resort vacations a surprise for my kids but I always get WAY too excited to keep it a secret! At the moment, there are no “official” invitations, but I do have a few suggestions for you!

-If there is a Disney Store near, they may be able to coordinate a surprise where they will post something on their large television screen and the entire store will cheer for your family! Make sure to contact them ahead of time to see if this is a possibility.

-If you have a friend who is at Walt Disney World Resort, you could ask them to visit a Disney Character and record a quick greeting message saying how excited they are to see you when you visit. I have had great luck with Disney Princesses agreeing to record a quick video for my children when they aren’t with me, however, Disney Characters, such as Pluto, who do not speak would not be able to do this. These “silent” Disney Characters could tentatively hold up a sign saying something like “you’re going to Walt Disney World Resort”. Again, this is only feasible if you have friends or family currently in the area.

-I have seen videos where people wrap boxes of Disney themed balloons as a gift and the balloons fly out with a “you’re going to Walt Disney World Resort” sign!

-I have also seen Guests surprise their family by ordering or making a Mickey shaped pizza and when the box is opened, the top has a “you’re going to Walt Disney World Resort” message written.

These are just a few suggestions but if you happen to be a YouTube fan, there are many fun (and some super emotional- have tissues) options for your to surprise your in-laws!

    Wishing you magical memories!
