I am planning a vacation for a family of adults (ages 28 to 80). Which deluxe hotels will amaze my crew the most? We love to luxuriate/relax, but are also BIG kids at heart. Any unique events we should consider experiencing that are not well advertised?

    Hi Nikki,

When we got married Walt Disney World in 2009, we had over 70 (yep SEVENTY) Guests from across the World join us for a big day, including my 80+ year old grandparents! While I don't think that you can go wrong with ANY Walt Disney World Resort Hotel (another panelist would probably give you totally different recommendations), I have two Resorts in mind that combine luxury and exotic locales, with just enough Disney touches to appeal to the young at heart too.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is my favourite Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. It was also the top choice of most of our wedding guests. The atmosphere is really unlike anywhere else “on property”, with a peaceful vibe that never fails to whisk me away to another place and time! From its amazing main lobby, to its oasis-like pool area and its myriad dining options, I don't think you can pick a better hotel for your upcoming vacation. Budget permitting, I would recommend splurging on a Savanna View room. I love sitting on our balcony with a beverage and a book, watching the animals go about their day right in front of me.

My second choice would be Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It's another Resort that whisks you away to another place and time, this time to the South Seas, with some amazing tropical details both in and around the Resort. It too has some great dining options, as well as a newly refurbished pool area that is quite the treat. Plus, adults can have a blast at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto (one of my new favourite corners of Walt Disney World Resort). Finally, I'll admit that being a short monorail ride away from Magic Kingdom Park is pretty heavenly.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
