I am planning a vacation with another DVC member , can I give them my points in order to book their home resort? Our home resort is not the same as theirs.

    Hi Sharon,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  I think that it is wonderful that as Disney Vacation Club members, we can transfer Vacation Points to another member.  What a lovely and thoughtful way to use your Vacation Points!

When you transfer Vacation Points to another Disney Vacation Club member, they do retain their original Use Year and Home Resort Priority.  Therefore, when the Vacation Points transfer from you to your friend, she will have your Home Resort Priority and Use Year with those Vacation Points.

Here is a little more information about transferring Vacation Points.  You need to call Disney Vacation Club member services at 1-800-800-9800 to do this, and you need to have both your member number and the member number of the person to whom you are transferring the Vacation Points.  Transferred Vacation Points will not show up on the Disney Vacation Club member website, so when your friend is ready to make a reservation using those Vacation Points, she will need to call Disney Vacation Club member services.  You cannot transfer banked or borrowed Vacation Points; however, transferred Vacation Points can be banked.  You may only have one transfer per Use Year per membership.  This means that in your Use Year, you will not be able to transfer Vacation Points in or out again; nor will your friend to whom you transfer the vacation points.

I know that transferring Vacation Points can be a bit complicated, so I do recommend that you call Disney Vacation Club member services to speak through your specific situation with a cast member before you transfer the Vacation Points.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Sharon!  Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
