Hi Moms! I am planning a vacation for December 24-30 for christmas and my sons 5 bday any ideas for the bday??

Hi Beneeta - how exciting!  You get to plan a Disney vacation and a celebration for your son!  You are  smart to be thinking about your itinerary now - the time of year you are going is one of the busiest.

You'll probably want to start off by making sure your son has a birthday button to wear.  You can get his button at any of the Guest Services locations at the parks, Downtown Disney or any any of the Walt Disney World resorts.

One of the ways I like to celebrate a birthday is by having a character meal.  Chef Mickey's is one of my favorites.  The cast members will provide your son with a special cupcake to help celebrate.  If you'd like to take dessert a step further, you may want to call the Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253 (at least 48 hours prior to the celebration) to order a special cake for your table.

You can find character dining opportunities here.

Make sure you check out Kara's "Birthday Done Right!" video in the Moms Panel video library.  You'll get an idea on how easy it is to get your button and birthday cake!

If your son will be there for his actual birthday, you can also sign up for free admission by visiting this site.

And finally, if your budget allows, you may want to consider an in-room celebration.  You can find that information and lots of other ideas here.  The possibilities truly are endless!

    Happy Planning!  Diane
