Hi! I am planning a vacation for December and it appears there is no extra magic hours in the evening for magic kingdom as well as it closes early on numerous nights for the holiday party, is this accurate? If so why would all the evening ones be removed?

Thank you for returning to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ami! December is a magical time with plenty of festivities for your entire family. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a great way to participate in this!

You’re right that Magic Kingdom will often forego their evening Extra Magic Hours when the Christmas Party is happening. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party requires a separate event ticket and the park will close to regular guests around 6pm before the official party begins. As you’re planning your vacation, you’ll notice the Parks Hours and Calendar will only update 6-ish months ahead of time, so you’ll have to wait another month or so until the December hours are officially released to see what Magic Kingdom has in store. That being said, even if evening Extra Magic Hours are not present, you’ll still have morning options in the Park as well as Extra Magic Hours throughout the rest of Walt Disney World Resort.

If I can help you with another aspect of your magical vacation, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
