Hello we are planning a vacation for dec. 12, 2009 and i was curious to know how busy it was going to be and were the best place to stay that my kids 6 yrs. would really enjoy?

    Jamie:

Honestly, I think any child would love any resort if they knew they were going to the Magic Kingdom!  But if I had to come up with a Top 5, I'd suggest:

Deluxe: Polynesian.  Hands down.  The resort offers a plethora of activities both poolside and in the lobby, including the ever-popular torch-lighting ceremony and fire dancer.  Monorail access to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom make it even more memorable.

Semi-Deluxe: Animal Kingdom.  Only with a Savannah View room, in my opinion.  Some rooms come with bunk beds, a kid's dream!  Wake up to animals walking the savannah below!

Moderate: Port Orleans.  The boat to Downtown Disney makes this resort a stand-out for kids.  If you don't want multiple bus stops, go with French Quarter, which has a more compact layout and only one bus stop.  NOTE: I'd recommend a Pirate Room at Caribbean Beach Resort, but since you're going in December, it will be a little chilly to enjoy the well-themed pool.

Value: All-Star Movies.  At 30 feet high, icons like Buzz Lightyear, Herbie and others enthrall youngsters!  Our kids had as much fun posing with these statues as they did the live characters in the parks!

Cabins at Fort Wilderness.  If you've got energetic kids, this might be your answer.  Our kids love the fact that they can run around outside and enjoy the private deck.  I like the fact I can put the kids to bed in the private bedroom, close the door and have some quiet time with my husband in the large living area.  Best of all, Chip 'n' Dale's free campfire sing-along is a pleasant walk away.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
