Planning vaca in Oct. MK will be "closed" the last night of our trip for MNSHP. Considering ADR at Cal. Grill (kids 7 & 11) for nice dinner and diff fireworks experience. What would be a good time to req. reservations and in what location of

We took our four children to California Grill last year on one of the nights when the Magic Kingdom closed early for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  I just went back and checked the guidebook I made for last year's trip and found that our dining reservation that night was for 7:30.  As it turned out, the timing was perfect for viewing the Hallowishes fireworks show.  We had just finished dinner when the show started.  We went out to the overlook for a better view and when we returned to our table, our desserts were there waiting.  Of course, there were six of us so our meal may have taken a bit longer than yours will.  Also, we did wait a few minutes to be seated.  I'd say that if the Hallowishes show is scheduled to begin at 9:30 again this year, you're probably safe making a reservation for around 8:00.  It does make for a late meal for little tummies but it is a very neat experience if you can swing it.  I know that dining in such a beautiful restaurant made our two oldest daughters feel like princesses.  Have fun!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
