I am planning two Disney cruises in 2027. Once I've sailed on the first, I'll move up to Gold in the Castaway Club. Will my new Gold status apply to port adventure booking dates for the second cruise, even though it was booked while I was silver?

Ahoy, Keith! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing us your Disney Cruise Line Castaway Club question.

As you know, Disney Cruise Line recognizes repeat guests with membership in the Castaway Club and offers exclusive benefits based on your number of completed sailings. There are four different tiers of membership:

    • Silver Member: After completing 1 sailing
    • Gold Member: After completing 5 sailings
    • Platinum Member: After completing 10 sailings
    • Pearl Member: After completing 25 sailings

Your membership level is calculated based on the number of sailings that you have already completed and your benefits will apply accordingly. However, in order to remain active in the program, Disney Cruise Line does require that Castaway Club Members book or sail on at least one eligible cruise within 5 years of their last Disney voyage.

It sounds like you are already a Silver Member, but will reach Gold Member status after you complete your first scheduled sailing in 2027. Once your fifth cruise is completed, you should see the switch to Gold Member status reflected online and will be able to use those added benefits. To check your status, go to the main website and click on the tab labeled “Already Booked,” then select the option labeled “Castaway Club” near the bottom of the drop-down menu under the section labeled “My Account.”

Whether you will be able to use your Gold Member benefits for your second sailing in 2027 will depend on the timing of your two cruises and has nothing to do with your status at the time you originally booked. The issue is that your Gold Member benefits will not go into effect until after you have actually completed your fifth cruise’s sailing, whether you already have a sixth cruise booked or not. If your two cruises in 2027 are several months apart, then your Castaway Club status should change prior to the advance booking window opening up for your second cruise. But if your cruises are closer together, then your advance booking window for the second cruise may open up before you ever complete your first sailing and you will only be able to use your Silver Member benefits. You will need to look at the exact sailing dates for your two 2027 cruises to determine if your status will change in time. Remember that Silver Members can add cruise activities 90 days prior to sailing, but Gold Members gain access to booking for cruise activities 105 days prior to sailing.

Congratulations on your upcoming Castaway Club Member level upgrade and enjoy double the Disney Cruise Line fun in 2027. If you have any other questions, we are always happy to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
