We are planning to try to join a boarding group for Star Wars. how do you join with children? The adults have phones, but the 3 children in our group are without. Curious if it works the same as FastPass and you book the boarding group for several at once?

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elizabeth!

You must be so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! It's just around the corner!

I'm so glad that you asked this great question, and am happy to share some insight. My family and I were able to join a Boarding Group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance shortly after it opened, and I promise you have seen nothing like it!

First, you are correct, joining a Boarding Group is much like making FastPass+ plans for people in your group; the big difference is that you all need to be inside Disney's Hollywood Studios at the time, and should try this as soon as the park opens. You will all need to be linked in your My Disney Experience account's Family & Friends List, and be able to make plans for each other.

That morning, I recommend that at least two of the adults go through the first steps of the process on their phones--but only one should finalize the process by hitting "Submit". If any one of you experiences a lag or a glitch in your phone as you try to join a Boarding Group, one or more of the others will be able to continue the process without delay.

When you open the My Disney Experience mobile app, you'll see Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - Access by Boarding Group; there, click "Find Out More". If there are any Boarding Groups available to join, continue on to that step in the app. You'll be asked to select Guests who will be riding with you, then submit. Only one adult in your group should submit, and doing so will place all of you in the same Boarding Group number, meaning that you will be able to join the Resistance at the same time.

Another tip: if you happen to have additional Family & Friends in your list who are not with you on this trip, I suggest that you remove them prior to arrival. This will make it easier for you to select those traveling with you that morning, rather than having to search through a lengthy list in order to find them.

May the Force be with you as you attempt to join the Resistance and finally ensure that the First Order will not succeed.

As you plan your strategy, be sure to send more questions our way. We love to help...and most of us are with the Resistance, too!
