I am planning a trip with my 5 year old in January for her birthday. I was wondering if there were any restrictions on the activities we could do considering its going to be the first week of January. Any recommendations or helpful tips?

Hi, Audriana! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

January is a swell time to visit Walt Disney World Resort, but if you ask me ANYTIME is a swell time! What a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, don’t forget to pick up a special celebration birthday button for your princess at Guest Services or your Disney Resort hotel!

The only “restriction” I can see is that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed for refurbishments during your visit, but if you are looking to make a splash, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be open for your enjoyment! Depending on the length of your visit, might I suggest taking in the Epcot International Festival of the Arts? This will be the festival’s second year and it starts in January! I have yet to experience it, but it is on my Disney Bucket List!

Since your magical vacation is getting closer and closer, don’t forget to start thinking about your Advanced Dining Reservations, which can be made up to 180 days in advance! Cinderella’s Royal Table is always a favorite and since you are celebrating a special occasion, why not splurge and get your birthday princess a makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique?

I hope I answered your question,  please don’t hesitate to come back and let us help you plan a vacation that’s practically perfect in every way!
