    We are planning a trip this year again to Disney World and wondered how you can get selected to open Magic Kingdom with the Mayor of Main Street and the characters on the train. Thank you!

    Hi Julie!
    The family of the day who opens Magic Kingdom every day is picked randomly by a Cast Member.  It is so fun and exciting to be chosen and that is what makes it so magical.  I would recommend arriving well before park open to at least have a chance, but there are no guarantees.  My family was asked to be in a parade when my kids were small but have not experienced that again.  There are so many magical moments throughout the theme parks.  We always interact with the Cast Members whenever we can as this just makes our vacations more special and hopefully adds a little magic to their day as well.  I hope you have a wonderful vacation, Julie!
