Planning a trip for 3rd wk of Oct '13. Last visit was 1st wk of Dec. '09, great temps and low crowds. What are the crowds and temps like for 3rd wk in Oct? Trying to decide btwn 2 bdrm villa at AKL(where we stayed last time) or BCV? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Jennifer!

I pretty much love visiting Disney World anytime I get the chance but October is an exciting time to visit. The average highs are in the mid-80's and lows in the mid-60's. They usually get around 2.73 inches of rain for the month. The crowds are not usually very bad. There are a couple of events scheduled during that time:

    * The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is scheduled for Sept 27th - Nov 10th, 2013.

    * Although they haven't officially announced the 2013 dates, Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) takes place on select nights at the Magic Kingdom in Oct.

I've been to Disney all times during the year, including the week after Christmas when the parks are really crowded. I've found that with a little planning, we still had a good time. If you go the 3rd week in Oct, keep mind that Magic Kingdom will close early on MNSSHP dates. I'd avoid Epcot on Friday, Saturday & Sunday unless there is a particular Food & Wine event you'd like to attend.

I like to try resorts I've never stayed at before so I'd go with Beach Club Villas. This resort is beautiful. Its a short walk to Epcot which gives you tons of choices for dining. You can also get to Hollywood Studios by Friendship Boat. Gotta love easy access to 2 parks. My favorite part is Stormalong Bay. It is the best pool of all the Disney Resorts. Disney's BoardWalk is a quick boat ride away so you have lots of entertainment options right next door. Oh and don't forget to try the kitchen sink at Beaches & Cream Soda Shop!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
