Planning 3rd trip. Have been 1st wk June, and 1st wk of December. Thinking last week of feb for my bday next time. Is this a good time or stick to dec? ( our dec trip was PERFECT- ) if cant take kids out of school again is early June still not crowded? Thx

    Hi Kim,

Planning the perfect time to travel to Walt Disney World with your family can be a very important piece of the planning puzzle. It sounds as if you have experienced some good times to go during those less crowded times.

The last week in February would be a good time to go. The weather should be quite mild with temperatures averaging in the high 60s and low 70s. I would say that that week in February could have lower to average crowds since this would be prior to most Spring Breaks around the country. Disney's Princess Half Marathon weekend has historically taken place toward the end of February, so there may be some crowds during that weekend. So, keep this in mind when planning, although the crowds should still be quite manageable.

The first week in June can also be one of average attendance. We were there last summer the first week in June because of my kids' school schedule and had a wonderful time. There were crowds, but nothing that was too stressful. Considering most of the east coast schools do not typically get out until the end of June, this could also be an ideal time to travel.

While both of the above mentioned times are good times to go with what I would consider moderate crowds, the first week of December would most likely be the best between the three times you are considering.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your planning and feel free to stop by with more questions as they arise. We're here to help.
