I am planning a trip the week of Thanksgiving with my husband, 6-year old daughter and some friends of ours that have a 3 year old son. The choice is Animal Kingdom or Port Orleans. The cost diff. is sizeable. Is the Animal Kingdom that much better?

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a beautiful hotel with indoor corridors, restaurants, a zero-depth entry pool and the Zahanati Massage and Fitness Center.

Port Orleans (Riverside or French Quarter) will have outdoor corridors and less amenities. But the pool and playground would be enjoyed by the younger children in your party. The boat transportation to Downtown Disney is also an adventure for kids.

Perhaps you could try Port Orleans on this trip and stop by the Animal Kingdom Lodge to tour the resort and/or have a meal. Animal Kingdom Lodge is also undergoing construction for the new Disney Vacation Club villas. It is difficult to predict if the construction would impact your visit with noise or other issues.

    Have a magical trip.
