We are planning a trip to WDW 2/24/14-2/28/14. I was wondering if the value resorts are geared more torwards families with children or they are OK for just 2 adults to stay. We have no children. The main park we wish to visit is Animal Kingdom.

    Hi Kathy!

Deciding on a value resort really depends on what type of vacation you are looking to have while at Walt Disney World.  If you are planning on spending a great deal of time in the parks and not in your room, my suggestion is to forgo the expense of a more expensive resort.  While the value resorts don't have the impressive lists of amenities that the deluxe resorts do, they still have that wonderful sense of Disney magic.  In fact, my husband and I have stayed at POP Century without our children and had a perfectly lovely time.  Out of all the value resorts POP is my favorite because I loved seeing the icons from things that were popular when I was a child.I also suggest POP Century  because in late February and early March there is typically a dance team or cheerleading competition that is held at Walt Disney World.  While this will not impact the crowds at the parks, they will more than likely stay at the All Star Resorts making it a little crowded.  While most of these groups are very well behaved, they can tend to be a little loud at times so I suggest steering clear of the All Star Resorts during that time period.
If you plan on a more relaxing vacation where you do plan to spend split your time between your resort and the parks, I would suggest upgrading to a Deluxe Resort.  The Deluxe Resorts have themes that are certainly inciting for families, but adults will certainly be more appreciative of the subtle detailing.Since Animal Kingdom is the park you most want to visit, I would suggest Animal Kingdom Lodge.  The resort is gorgeous and you have an opportunity to see the animal right at your resort.  In fact, there are sections of rooms that face the Savannah where you can gaze at the animals from the privacy of your own balcony.  I hope this helps and please visit us again if you have any more questions!
    Happy Planning!
