I am planning a trip to WDW the week before Thanksgiving 2016. Is the park decorated for Christmas then? Also, the special event tickets, do you have to purchase a park ticket and a special event ticket? Thanks.

    Hi Serena,

You will be happy to know that the answer to your first question is--Yes! The Parks and Resorts of Walt Disney World are all decked out for the holidays by Thanksgiving. And believe me, it is a sight to behold! It is so festive and beautiful. My family and I love visiting during the holidays more than any other time of the year. You will absolutely love it!

Tickets for special events such as Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party include entrance the Magic Kingdom Park for the event. Although the exact times for 2016 have not been announced yet, in the past the starting time for this event has been 7:00 (Guests holding tickets for the event have been allowed entrance to the Park at 4:00.) If you would like to enjoy the Park during the day before the party, a separate ticket would need to be purchased. For more information please hop on over to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party page on the Walt Disney World website or call 407-939-5277.

Please come back to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel for any other help with your planning. Have a magical day!
