We are planning a trip to WDW and are utilizing "My Disney Experience". I am wondering if there is a reason (outside the visual connection & fun) for assigning characters to each guest? Thanks!

Hi Kerri, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You made a great decision to take advantage of My Disney Experience. I find that it helps keep everything organized and is a great planning tool. If you haven't already, I suggest you also download the My Disney Experience App for your Smartphone. You will have access to park maps, attraction wait times, and even restroom locations. I always pack a portable phone charger when I am in the parks because I open the My Disney Experience App so much throughout my day to check on my dining reservation times and FastPass+ selections.

On your My Disney Experience profile you can choose a Disney Character as your avatar. It serves no other purpose than acting as a fun way to personalize your profile and set you apart. I actually think that the character you choose can say a lot about you and your interests. Every person that is linked under my Family & Friends list has a character that 'matches' them. My profile character is Pocahontas, my favorite Disney Princess.

It is also fun for the little ones to pick their character. My son usually changes his character for every trip and loves getting to pick a new character and Magic Band color. I think it is a fun little way to show your Disney Side from home.

If you have any more questions feel free to stop by, and have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!
