We are planning a trip to WDW with twin four year olds. Our daughter  has tubes in her ears. Are Playhouse Disney and that age group of shows really loud?

    Mary:

With a son who has high-frequency hearing loss, I can literally feel your pain...loud noises--even crowded rooms--can make his hearing feel to us like a busted speaker...

When we visited the parks when he was younger, I do not recall any show (including Playhouse Disney) that made him uncomfortable except for Mickey's PhilharMagic at the Magic Kingdom.  Specifically, there is a crescendo at the end of the film followed by a few cymbal crashes that are piercing.  However, honestly, I think Cosmic Ray's and a few other restaurants may have this--and other Disney shows--beat when it comes to just plain old noise!

As a helpful hint, over the years, we've learned to sit toward the back middle of the larger shows like Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and It's a Bug's Life so that we aren't too close to any set of speakers and they are simply equal distance.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
