Hi, Cheryl!
If you’re looking for a time to visit the
Walt Disney World Resort when temperatures are cooler and crowds are lighter, I suggest the second week of January (after all of the holiday season travelers have headed home) through mid-February (avoiding the Presidents' Day holiday that brings more visitors). Daytime temperatures during this time will be in the high 60s to low 70s. You’ll probably need a sweater and/or lightweight jacket for the chilly mornings and evenings, but it sounds like this mild weather will be a welcome change compared to the warmer weather you experienced during your last visit.
October is another great time to visit Walt Disney World because of the calm weather and fun seasonal events and extras. Crowd levels will still be moderate but tend to be lower than during the summertime and winter holiday season, so you can enjoy many attractions with shorter wait times than during the peak season. There are several special events in October, including
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend and the
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. Expect mild to moderate heat during the day, but cooler nights when you visit the resort in October. There are also hotel, park ticket and dining specials or promotions typically offered during this month.
I hope this helps, Cheryl. Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
