Hi, We're planning a trip to WDW with our teens. Can we set a limit for each of them to charge to the credit card linked in My Disney Experience, so they can grab a meal while touring the parks without us, but still making them stick to a budget?

    Hi Julie,

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us another question, my fellow Canadian!

I really do love the convenience of having charging privileges associated with my account whenever I’m staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. There’s just something so lovely about being able to “tap and go” at dining and merchandise locations. Plus, I’ve also found that putting everything together in one charge from the hotel lessens the sting of the exchange rate for those of us who will have to pay everything off in Canadian Dollars!

Based on my experience, charging privileges are either “on” or “off” – we sadly can’t set a limit for these charging privileges for each individual Guest staying in the same hotel room. If you want to impose a credit limit on their account, it needs to apply to everyone.

That said, a great alternative would be to purchase Disney Gift Cards for your teens when you arrive. I’ve started giving my son his own Gift Card whenever we visit Walt Disney World Resort and I’ve been impressed with how well he sticks to the budget on that card. Now if only he would do that at home, too, right??

I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect Disney vacation for you and your family. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
