We are planning a 2nd trip to WDW and are going to stay at the GF for a 2nd time. This time we will be staying in the outer building with theme park view. Can you really see the castle/fireworks & how does the outer building compare to the main blg.Th

    Hi Heather,

Lucky you, being able to stay at Disney's Grand Floridian for the second time!  It is a spectacular resort, isn't it?

Having stayed both in the main building and in the surrounding buildings at this resort, I'd be happy to try to answer your question.  When you are staying in the main building, you get a sense that you situated right in the midst of all the activities going on at the resort.  As you step outside your room, you might actually hear the band playing in the lobby, or if it is Christmas time, you might smell the life-size Gingerbread house.  Shopping opportunities abound, and you're also quite close to the monorail stop, which is very convenient.

However, I really enjoyed the quiet and seclusion that guests enjoy in the surrounding lodge buildings.  We stayed in the lodge building called Boca Chica.  There are many rooms in this lodge that offer stunning views of Cinderella Castle, the fireworks, and the Electrical Water Pageant.  These rooms are so peaceful and romantic.  I'm sure you'll enjoy your room in the surrounding lodges at the Grand Floridian.

    Have a lovely vacation!
