I am planning a trip to WDW for my son's 5th birthday. I am not sure he would be comfortable with a character dinner, but I would still love to find a place with a fun theme for his bday dinner. Any tips?

Hello Kelly and thanks for asking the Disney Parks Moms Panel such a great question about celebrating your darling son's 5th birthday at Walt Disney World Resort!
I simply can't think of a better destination in which to spend your Mouseketeers special day in and I've some fun themed dining suggestions which you may like to take a peek at -
Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs Market Place or Rainforest Cafe - Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park; take a walk on the wild side at these fun and interactive dining spots where the scenery comes alive!
T-REX; perfect for all dino-loving diners!
Coral Reef Restaurant; a dining experience like no other where Guests can view a living coral reef and its ocean inhabitants as they enjoy their meal.
Whispering Canyon Cafe; this super fun all-you-care-to-enjoy family style dining spot is filled with laughter from beginning to end as Cast Members seem to enjoy providing the ketchup!
And of course no Disney birthday is quite complete without a confection in the shape of Mickey Mouse with Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort which can be pre-ordered at least 72 hours in advance for delivery at most Table Service restaurants on Disney property.
Wishing you and your son a very magical birthday visit!
