Planning trip to WDW for Sept to celebrate our girls birthdays, thought 100 +days advance would be enough but everything that we had wanted to do is booked (Akershus, Chef Mickey, etc) Do any of these places take walk ins, too? Or is it reservations only?

    Hi Abigail:

It's very disappointing that you cannot get reservations at your favorite restaurants. Princess dining and Chef Mickey's are extremely popular, so I'm not surprised that reservations booked up that early. What I would do is to book reservations at your second choices, just so you can make sure you have some reservations and aren't stuck scrambling to find a place to eat at the last minute.  You may find some new favorites by trying new places.   After securing dining reservations at your secondary choices, I would then check for availability at your other choices periodically. Cancellations happen, and there is a chance you can grab a reservation due to a cancellation. Also, being flexible with your dining times can really increase your chances of getting a table (turn late breakfast or early lunch into brunch). You can also try a walk-up without a reservation, but because these restaurants are popular, unless there are last-minute cancellations or no-shows, you may end up having a long wait or being told there is no availability.  I'm not sure the ages of your daughters, but if they may not be up for a long wait, it may be risky to chance the walk-ups.

    Enjoy your vacation.
