I am planning a trip to WDW and we plan on taking our nephew who will be 5 for the first trip. We were thinking of October but I'm worried about the Food and Wine Festival clogging up Epcot. Is that the case? Should i not plan meals there?

    Hi Jess:

I love to eat and to travel, so it's not a shock that World Showcase at Epcot is my favorite spot in all of Walt Disney World. We usually plan at least three or four meals at the World Showcase pavilions each trip, with Le Cellier and Biergarten being our two must-dos.

I have a five-year-old and a three-year-old, and one of our visits to Disney World in 2010 occurred during the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. During the Festival, World Showcase is filled with food and drink kiosks featuring treats from around the world, and this section of Epcot tends to get more crowded than usual. However, I would not avoid World Showcase entirely during your visit. While there may be more people in World Showcase than normal, I didn't feel that the crowd-level ever became unbearable or wholly unmanageable. If you are worried about the crowds, you can help mitigate this concern by planning meals on the early side.

    Enjoy your visit.
