We are planning a trip to WDW in October of 2014. We have read the dining plan options and are wondering which is the best value. We would like to eat at the Polynesian village one night and also do a character meal one day.

    Hi Theodore!

Disney's Dining Plan can be a great value and a wonderful convenience for your Walt Disney World vacation! My family loves the spectacular dining locations and look forward to our meals as much as the attractions.Depending upon what type of dining you would like to do, will really determine which Disney Dining Plan is the best value for your needs.

For my family, we typically like to eat quickly during the day and enjoy a nice leisurely meal in the evening which makes Disney's Standard Dining Plan perfect. In 2014 Disney's Standard Dining Plan will cost $58.66 ages 10+ per a night and 18.88 ages 3-9 per a night. This will give you 1 table-service credit, 1 quick-service credit and 1 snack credit for each night as well as a refillable resort mug to use during the duration of your vacation.

I'm a number kind of gal, so let's break down one day prices compared to the price of Disney's Standard Dining Plan:
    Chef Mickey's (table-service) Adult $38.99 Child $18.99
Pinocchio Village Haus (quick-service) Adult $15.87 Child $5.99
Aloha Island (snack credit) Pineapple Dole Float $4.99

The total cost out-of-pocket cost for this example is $59.85 per an adult and $29.97 per a child for one day. While you will only see a small savings per an adult, with this scenario you will save $11.09 per a child ages 3-9.Out of all of Disney's Dining Plans, this is probably your best value unless you are considering eating at table-service locations for every meal of your trip.

Also, may sure to keep on eye on Disney's Special Offers page as Disney's Free Dining Promotion has frequently been offered in October.Even if you have already booked your vacation, you can still take advantage of any additional offers that may become available.

I hope this helps, Theodore and please visit us again if you have anymore questions!

    Happy Planning!
