Hello! Planning a trip to WDW in October. Was hoping you could tell me what the difference is between the "standard" and "preferred" views at Boardwalk Villas. Thanks!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kimberly!

October is one of my favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World Resort and with a possible stay at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, you are in a prime location to take advantage of the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. I love how convenient it is to walk into World Showcase or enjoy the ambiance as you take the boat transport to Epcot (or Disney's Hollywood Studios).

You bring up a great question about the different room types and views. I'm always amazed at how many different rooms are available across the wide array of Disney Resort Hotels. A standard view at Disney's BoardWalk Villas, depending upon the exact location of the room, may be of the parking areas or other general landscaping that is adjacent to parking. It's possible that with a standard view you would get mostly grassy areas, but not guaranteed. In comparison, a Preferred would either be of the BoardWalk, Luna Park or Leisure pool areas or gardens.

If you're having a hard time deciding, I always encourage my friends to think about how much time they'll be spending in the rooms. If you'll be waking up early to secure a Boarding Pass for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and then staying at the park until close, a Standard View might be the best choice. But if you like to enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your balcony, a Preferred view is the way to go.

Hopefully this helps as you are getting ready to book your fall vacation. Wishing you an unforgettable trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth. Stop back and see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions you might have,
