Planning a trip to WDW for Oct. I have a 5 yo & 12 yo but it is all overwhelming, there are so many options! What are things that we should definitely do to make the most of our vacation. Like 1 thing we cant live without? We are on a budget.

    Hi Aimee!

A first family trip is extra magical in my opinion, but it can be overwhelming.  Planning a general itinerary of what parks you want to visit on each day of your trip, and making advanced dining reservations (ADRs) that are in/near the theme parks you intend to be in for each day is how I start to plan every Walt Disney World Vacation.  Reservations can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE up to 180 days before your trip. Once you do this, I would spend some time on the Disney Parks website and have each of your kids make a list of what attractions they most want to experience.  This way you will have an idea of what everyone in your family most wants to see and experience, and start planning your "plan of attack" for the theme parks.  If you are looking to save money, I would consider skipping a "Park Hopper Option" on your tickets.  On a first trip, you can easily spend an entire day in each park.  (You'll be able to leave and return to the same park in a given day as many times as you like in order to return to your resort to swim, rest, eat, etc.) I hope you have a wonderful trip!

    Happy planning!
