Hi, Shelley! Or as they say on the planet Batuu, "Bright suns!" Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this question of galactic proportions.
I am so excited to hear that you are hoping to explore Black Spire Outpost when
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at
Disney's Hollywood Studios. I had the opportunity to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Resort a few weeks ago, and it exceeded all of my greatest expectations. Having the opportunity to pilot the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs on
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run was truly a childhood dream come true.
So far, there has been no mention of Walt Disney World utilizing a reservation system for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge like Disneyland did when their version of the land opened. However, it was recently announced that there will be
extra, Extra Magic Hours offered this fall to help accommodate guests wishing to travel to the planet Batuu. Guests staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel will have access to Disney's Hollywood Studios daily from September 1 to November 2, 2019, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. During extra, Extra Magic Hours, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be open, as well as
Toy Story Land and select other attractions. Please be aware that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and its experiences will be subject to capacity restrictions.
At this time, it is hard to say what crowds will be like when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens at the Walt Disney World Resort. As Yoda once said, "The dark side clouds everything. Impossible to see the future is." I would recommend following the
Disney Parks Blog as you prepare for your visit. If anything changes with regard to guest procedures for accessing this immersive new land, it will be announced on the Disney Parks Blog.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
