Planning a trip to WDW next summer with daughters (7, 5, 2), but just found out that we will be having an unexpected baby about 3 months before the trip. Any advice about the idea of taking a 3 month old to disney? Trying to decide if we should postpone.

    Jason:

First of all, congratulations on #4!

While there are several moms on the panel who have traveled to Disney with infants, my caution on bringing a 3-month-old is the fact that your trip is planned right now for the summer. Summers in Orlando can be brutally hot and humid, possibly much different than Michigan. Not only will your wife be recuperating from delivery and any complications that might arise, but the baby will have to bear the elements, too. I will leave out the inconveniences of air travel with newborns and feeding/napping schedules, but hot weather can quickly change the moods of young children AND parents. Worst, you have three other children who will be affected by the needed attention to your youngest. While the trip certainly could be done with a commitment to leave the parks by lunch in the heat of the day for naps, if it were me, I'd opt to look at a cooler time of year and when your baby is a little older.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
