Planning 1st trip to WDW next fall. A bit overwhelmed b/c it sounds like most plan ADR's in advance, which means you would have to plan which park you are going to which day ahead of time. Should I plan all 3 meals each day? Takes the fun out of it a bit..

    Hi Kristina!

I totally understand what you are saying!  I am sort of in the middle camp on this issue.  I like to plan at least one meal per day out before we come.  First, I try to decide which parks I want to do on which days, and then make my dining reservations accordingly.

I like to do either a breakfast or dinner reservation.  There are plenty of counter-service restaurants to choose other meals from that can make your day a little less planned.  We just pick up lunch wherever we happen to be!   I think three meals planned out in advance would sort of take up your whole day and not leave enough time for all of the attractions and rides in the parks.

The restaurants at Walt Disney World are really attractions in themselves.  But, it's never fun to have to sit and wait for an hour or more for a meal when you are hungry.  This is why most people plan their meals in advance.  You can plan up to 180 days before your trip.  The most popular restaurants will fill up that far ahead of time, but you can always keep checking for cancellations if you don't get what you want.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
