    We are planning a trip to WDW later this year. We are going thru a program for purple heart recipents so everything is paid for minus the food. The hotel that we are staying is Bahama bay. We have never been and dont have a clue where to start?

    Hi Nikki!

    The first steps in any planning is deciding when to go and where to stay, so it sounds like you already have that covered.  The next step is to have an idea of what parks you would like to visit on which day.  For that, I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That is the website for the research team behind the tour book the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd level in the parks on a particular day.  They will provide a recommendation on which parks to visit and which parks to avoid on a specific day.  With that in mind, you can start planning your trip.

    After you know where you might be on a particular day, you can plan your dining.  Advanced Dining Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance and they are really a necessity, especially for the most popular Table Service restaurants.  ADRs can be made on-line or by calling (407/) WDW-DINE.  To see the menu, including prices, of every Table Service and Quick Service restaurant, I recommend visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  Just click on Walt Disney World at the top of the page and then dining!

    Since it is your first time visiting, I recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information, but is not overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel for everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.
