Planning our 1st trip to WDW for July 30-Aug. 8, '13 w/ our 2 kids (9 & 11).Thinking AOA std rm as it is new and looks really cool (esp. the BBP).Also considering PORS or CBR as the price diff. is min.for our dates. We don't want to split our stay.Advi

Hello Rebecca!  The good news is, you can't go wrong with any of the resorts you have selected for your final choice and it's really a family preference.  Here are some questions you'll want to ask yourself:

    - Are water slides important to your children?  If so, you will want to go with Port Orleans Riverside (POR) or Caribbean Beach Resort (CBR).  The Art of Animation (AoA) does not have a water slide at any of its pools.  However, the main pool at AoA does have under water speakers - very cool.

    - The standard rooms at AoA are themed as the Little Mermaid - you don't mention if you have boys or girls but just be sure the theme is OK for the family.  Additionally, the standard rooms are a further walk to the main building if that is important to you.

    - Would you prefer to stay in a newer room?  If so, the AoA is brand new and the theme throughout the resort is wonderful - plenty of photo opportunities.  On the flip side, if you have two daughters, they would probably enjoy the Royal Guest Rooms at POR.

    - And finally, if you prefer the beach-type atmosphere, CBR is the way to go.

Personally, if it were my family, I would keep an eye on the special offers page to see if I could get a deal for a family suite at AoA.  If that didn't work out, I would probably opt to POR so the kids could enjoy the water slide.

I hope this helps with your decision!  Again, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose so go with your gut.  Please let us know if you have any follow-up questions.  Diane
