I am planning a trip to WDW in Florida the after Christmas. Will the decorations still be up? I also have not been to WDW since the genie apps. Can you tell me more. It will be my son's first trip.

    Season's greetings, Mandy!

A very warm welcome to planDisney. We're so happy you've stopped in with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! You'll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year. Mandy, you're in for a holly-jolly time! Nothing compares to visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays.

My family loves visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth between November and January while the theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, and Disney Springs are dressed in their holiday best! Mandy, while things are always subject to change, in my experience, the holiday décor at the Walt Disney World Resort is removed gradually beginning after Christmas Day and is usually completely removed in early January. During your visit, I encourage you to explore the incredible gingerbread displays at many of the Disney Resort hotels - my favorite of which is located at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!

Mandy, while you're enjoying the very-merry festivities in the theme parks, consider using Disney Genie service, available in the My Disney Experience mobile app. This complimentary planning resource helps Guests to navigate their day in the theme parks with a customized itinerary based on their preferences and interests! Hoping to maximize your time in the theme park by minimizing your time waiting in queues? If so, I recommend checking out Disney Genie+ service! This upgraded, paid service allows Guests to select return times for Lightning Lane entrances throughout the theme parks, providing them with decreased wait times. Mandy, while Disney Genie+ service allows Guests to access Lightning Lane entry for most attractions in each theme park, the most popular rides in each of the theme parks are not offered through the service. For these attractions, Guests have the option of purchasing à la carte Lightning Lane entry via the My Disney Experience mobile app. For each day in the theme parks, you may purchase both Disney Genie+ service and individual Lightning Lane entry, one or the other, or neither (and utilize the complimentary Disney Genie service) - whatever you prefer!

I'm excited to let you know that the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays will be happening during your visit, Mandy! This special annual event celebrates holiday traditions from around the world with seasonal food dishes, elaborate entertainment, and dazzling decorations throughout the theme park. If you have the chance to visit EPCOT during this time, I recommend participating in the Holiday Cookie Stroll. You'll snack your way around the World Showcase collecting stamps in your Festival Passport from each cookie stroll location and reward yourself with a completer prize!

Mandy, I ho-ho-hope you've found this information helpful. I'm wishing you the most merriest visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to revisit us at planDisney anytime. We're here to help you make magical holiday vacation memories!

    Warm wishes,

    Lauren
