Hi, Bliss!
I’m so happy to hear that you’re in the early planning stages of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Trip costs will certainly vary based on the type of accommodations you desire (deluxe, moderate or value, for example), your dining habits (fine dining versus quick-service dining and snacks), and how much you spend on souvenirs and other extras. In my opinion, $10,000 is a very generous budget for a family of four spending a week at the resort without paying for airfare—perhaps even double what you might need to still have a fabulous time.
If you’d like more specific help, please write back to me with your desired resort hotel, how many days you’d like to visit the theme parks, your typical dining habits, and possible recreational activities and tours you or your children might be interested in. I’d be happy to help you with a ballpark budget figure. Otherwise, a great place to start on your own would be the
Walt Disney World website, where you can get a more specific idea of pricing for resorts and park tickets. You won’t have access to the official pricing for 2014-2015 yet, but the 2013 prices will provide you with a great estimate.
I hope this helps, Bliss. Please feel free to ask me any other questions you have as you continue to plan!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
