Planning a trip to WDW February 2017 with my family (we have 3 girls age 9,6 and 4). As far as crowds/weather which is better, beginning or end of that month? Thank you!

    Hi Allison!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Mom's Panel with your question. Let me start out by saying how excited I am for your visit. Your girls are at perfect ages to really enjoy everything Walt Disney World has to offer! Although the average temperatures in February are reported to be somewhere around 50-60 degrees, the weather in Central Florida is very unpredictable. I would definitely pack lightweight jackets for everyone. We have been to Florida in February and experienced 80+ degree weather as well as days that don't get much above 50 degrees. Because there is always the possibility of rain, no matter what time of year my family makes a trip to Disney, I like to bring inexpensive rain parkas that I purchase in the camping section of our local department store. That way we are prepared if we are caught in a deluge in the middle of a Park one day. It is very difficult to predict what the weather will be like so I would suggest you prepare for anything.

One of things we all wish we could predict (even more than the weather) is the crowds at different times of the year at Walt Disney World. Like you, I am always trying to guess which weeks will be less crowded. One thing I have noticed is that the busiest times at the Parks seem to coincide with school vacation schedules. For example, President's weekend might be more crowded than other weekends in February. One way to avoid the crowds even if you are there at a busy time of year is to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours which are available to everyone staying at a Walt Disney World Resort. My family loves these!

Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you with your planning. We love to do all we can to make your Walt Disney World visit memorable. Have a magical day!
