We are planning a trip to WDW in Feb. with our 4 yo, 2 yo and 10 mo. old. Would you recommend staying 6 nights at a less expensive resort or 5 nights at a deluxe or villa resort? Which resort would be the best for travel convenience to all attractions?

Tricia this is always a tough question to answer.  For my family convenience was well worth the money when it came time to choose a resort for our Disney vacations.  The deluxe resorts will be those that are close to at least one park and most likely have easy access to another one.  With younger children being close to your resort room for the afternoon naps will save a ton of time in your day.

The deluxe resorts will also offer more recreation amenities and have better themed type pools with more slides and activities.  The resorts will offer room service and have dining locations right in the resort so if you need food fast you don't have far to look!

I would recommend the following resorts: Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk.
