I am planning a trip to WDW in The Fall of 2013 and thinking about staying at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort, Can u tell me what buildings are the closest to the foodcourt and pools? We were thinking of the Royal guestrooms!!

You've chosen a great resort, Joseph; Port Orleans Riverside is one of my favorites.  When my family stayed there a few years ago, we were housed in lodge 18 (Alligator Bayou) and found it to be very convenient to the main building where the restaurant, food court and lounge are.  Alternately, buildings 14 and 15 in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort are close to the same area.  If you want to be close to the main themed pool, lodges 27 and 38 in the Alligator Bayou section are closest.

The new royal rooms are all located in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort in buildings 90 and 95.  Of all the Magnolia Bend buildings, Oak Manor is closest to the main building while Magnolia Terrace is closest to the main themed pool.  As for which location is best for your family, it depends on whether you'd prefer to be close to the main building or the main themed pool.  Hopefully you can use the information I've provided to decide which you favor.  Have a great time!
