I am planning a trip to WDW for Dec. 2012 for my sons x-mas gift ages 10 and 14. Where would you recommend to stay, to have dinner, and other stuff to do. Or should I just look threw everything and try to decide.

    Hi Belinda,

I can't imagine a more magical Christmas present!  How exciting for you and your boys!

I have an eleven-year-old son who gave me some pointers on what tween boys love to do most at Walt Disney World.  We both recommend that you choose one of the deluxe Disney resorts in the Epcot area of Walt Disney World for your hotel.  Your options include Disney's Boardwalk Inn & Villas, Disney's Beach Club Resort & Villas, and Disney's Yacht Club.  By staying at one of these resorts you are within minutes of two Disney theme parks with amazing thrill rides.  My son especially enjoys Test Track, Mission Space, and Soarin' at Epcot.  At Disney's Hollywood Studios he loves the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster with Aerosmith, and Toy Story Mania.  I bet your sons would love these rides too.

Our favorite restaurants at these parks are Min & Bill's Dockside Diner at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Le Cellier or Biergarten in Epcot.  I would recommend that you schedule at least one character dining experience with your sons.  There are many options throughout Walt Disney World but our favorites are Chef Mickey's in Disney' Contemporary Resort and 'Ohana in Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Once you decide where you'd like to eat, call (407) WDW-DINE 180 days before your arrival to book your table service reservations.

Finally, my son said to be sure to recommend a visit to DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney if your boys like video games, virtual rides, and bumper cars.  This place is like a tween boy nirvana.

Wishing you a magical visit to Walt Disney World next year!  Thanks for your question.
