We are planning a trip to WDW for the Christmas holiday 2023. How far in advance should I purchase the park tickets and make reservations for entrance?

    Hi there, K!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for coming to us with your question. Even though one holiday season just ended, your question has me ready to plan for next year's festivities! There's no place like Walt Disney World Resort for the holidays, and I'm happy to help you plan your holly, jolly visit!

Currently, theme park tickets and theme park reservations are available through mid-January 2024. K, that means you can start planning your trip as early as today! Since the holidays are an extra special and popular time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, I encourage you to purchase your theme park tickets and make your theme park reservations sooner rather than later. If you're hoping to attend a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party event if offered this year, I recommend keeping an eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website and the Disney Parks Blog this summer, as that is usually when holiday party dates and details are released!

If you're visiting during the holiday season, it's also very likely that you'll be around for my favorite EPCOT festival - the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays! There is so much fun to be had at EPCOT during this special time - from satisfying your sweet tooth on the Holiday Cookie Stroll to hearing the story of Christmas at the moving and nostalgic Candlelight Processional. I recommend looking into a Candlelight Processional Dinner Package to ensure guaranteed seating at the event as well as an amazing meal at EPCOT.

During the holidays, the halls will be decked at Disney Springs, too! The Christmas Tree Stroll features intricately themed decorated Christmas trees situated throughout the area. Visit each of them and you'll earn a special prize! Also, in the Disney Springs Town Center, you'll witness a nightly "snowfall." The first time I experienced this magical happening, I was brought to happy tears. Moments and memories like that keep my family returning to Walt Disney World Resort year after year.

K, I hope this information helps you to start planning your magical holiday visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please feel free to stop by planDisney with any additional planning questions you might have - we're eager to help!

    Season's greetings,

    Lauren
